MEETING TONIGHT ON POOL

There is a public workshop tonight, Tuesday, Sept. 30, to give members of the community an opportunity to provide feedback and suggestions for the future community swimming pool. The Honey Lake Valley Recreation Authority tells us the Aquatic Design Group will be in attendance to share their experience in pool design. The meeting is at the City Hall Council Chambers, 66 N. DONATING TO WEED FIRE VICTIMS

If you or someone you know would like to help the fire victims' in the Weed area, you can drop off any donations to any real estate office or to the Lassen Association of Realtors (inside the Singleton Auman building open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday) in Susanville. Donations need to be dropped off by Thursday, Oct. 2. It's our understanding residents in Weed are in desperate need of bottled water.

PURSES FOR PETS FUNDRAISER

This Saturday is the annual Tomato Festival and Purses for Pets at Every Bloomin Thing in Johnstonville. The event will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13. In addition to enjoying the tomato tasting, you can participate in a silent auction featuring a variety of purses ranging from bling to fabulous! Plus, there will be live music for your enjoyment and much more. So mark your calendar and join the Lassen Humane Society for an afternoon of fun and you can support a good cause too.

CELEBRATING 150 YEARS

From 6 to 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5 at Memorial Park, Lassen County will be celebrating 150 years. There will be food, drink, no-host bar and a sesquicentennial presentation along with dancing to live music. For more information, you can call the Lassen County Chamber of Commerce at 257-4323.
