CUSTOM MADE TEPEES

Randy Nelson has opened a business on Birch Street in Westwood handcrafting tepees. It’s called 2 Feathers Tipi. He makes them in several sizes — from miniature for things like doll houses or pets, to a large, 18- to 20-foot tepee that can be used for events and business attractions, and other sizes for just about everything in between. He also rents tepees for camping and other uses — delivery service available. These well-insulated tepees are offered in six tribal designs or can be custom-made. Photo by Valorie Chisholm

NEW SWEET SHOP IN TOWN                         While originally hailing from Boston, Carol Ingram and her family have called Susanville home since 1995. Carol has always had a passion for baking, as well as a lifelong dream of opening her own shop of sweet treats. In honor of her late parents, Carol is proud to announce the opening of Joanie and Frankie’s Cupcakes. In addition to cupcakes, Carol makes other “wicked good” treats including cookies, cakes and pies. Stop in and say hi and try something yummy. She is located at 809 Main St., Susanville, next to Sierra Theatre. She is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and from 9 to 3 p.m. Saturdays. Photo by Erika GiustiBizJoanie
