Kase Camacho, Farmers Insurance agent, in Susanville has recently completed the Career Agents Course at the University of Farmers in Agoura Hills, Calif. Kase completed the five-day Career Agents Course which is targeted to enhance the professional skills of Farmer's agents, and in turn will help them choose the right insurance to meet their clients needs.
FREE CONCERT IN THE PARK
At 10 a.m. Sunday, July 17 several local churches will be hosting a free concert in the Lloyd Keefer Park in Janesville with the Golden State Quartet. There will be a free lunch in the park afterward and you are welcome to bring your favorite potluck dish too. This is a great opportunity to listen and enjoy the sounds of the quartet while socializing with your family and friends in the great outdoors.
PET TEETH CLEANING
Does your four-legged friend need its teeth cleaned? Or maybe you need them to get their teeth cleaned for fresher breath. Amanda Byrd, owner of Clip N' Dales, in Uptown Susanville tells us they will be offering pet teeth cleaning on July 19, now would be the time to make that appointment.
TOP QUICK SERVE PIZZA IN COUNTRY
Lorin and Judy Galassi, owners of Papa Murphy's, in Susanville tell us, readers of Consumer Reports magazine have named Papa Murphy's Pizza the top quick service pizza restaurant in the country. It was also named one of the best values for the money. Judy also tells us they are now offering thin crust Delites in family size pizza.
NEW LOCATION AND A NEW NAME
Animal lover Monte Kielty is moving his store and changing the name of the Susanville shop. Treats Dog Company will be closed for two days in order to make the move to their new location. They will close on July 13 and 14, and re-open in the old Pizza Factory in the Sierra Shopping Center on July 15 along with their new name, Treats Dog Company and Pet Market Place. They will have self-serve dog-wash stations, their own groomer and tons of new products for all you animal lovers. They will be open seven days a week as well.

GRILL YOUR OWN STEAKS
Diamond Mountain Casino and Hotel is now offering Grill Your Own Steak dinners on Tuesdays. You can choose from a variety of delicious steaks and enjoy them with all the fixings. They are also a major sponsor of the upcoming Lassen County Fair and invite you to stop by their booth and dunk someone you know. Proceeds for the dunk tank go to support a different local charity each day of the fair. So you can raise money for good causes and have some wet fun too!
HELP FEED THE HUNGRY
The Grocery Outlet bargain market stores are teaming up for an Independence From Hunger food drive. During the month of July you can donate cash and/or food and help them fight hunger. All donations will go to local charities, so owners Carrie and Andrew Baum encourage you to stop in at the store to make a donation while taking advantage of all the great local values on everything from organic produce and fresh and frozen meats, to plants, toys, garden supplies and home décor. “We’re expanding our brand name lines and inventory weekly,” according to Baum, but the great deals don’t stay in stock long. If you know someone who is need of a little extra help, the store also gives a monthly store gift certificate for those suffering from hard times. You can simply write up a nomination and drop it off at the store to have your loved one considered for the Baum’s monthly community support donation.
