Power outage in Lassen County

April 26, 2012 — LMUD customers were without power from approximately 3 to 3:35 p.m. Thursday, April 26.

The cause of the outage appears to be a broken cross-arm which caused the distribution line west of Susanville to come down.

It is not known at this time what caused the broken cross-arm.

Crews have restored power to the majority of customers — customers in the area west of Susanville on Highway 36 are still without power at this time.

Repairs on the broken cross-arm and downed line are in progress.

When are the county voters going to wake-up and give the boot to the corrupt LMUD, and their defective equipment?

There are too many power outages!

Pacific Power is a much better choice!

Sorry to break it to you Mr. jensen, but sometimes something happens and the power just goes out no matter how good your power company is.

Hi Kirk! True, power outages can happen anywhere, at anytime, and with any company. My question is, are other power companies as corrupt as LMUD?

admode; I haven't heard any complaints about PGE - Portland General Electric, but do you mean PG&E... Pacific Gas and Electric?

Be careful of what you wish for, Municipal Utilities charge a whole lot less for power than Investor-Owned-Utilities, because the clients are the stockholders. If there is corruption and you are a user(owner) it maybe in your power to correct it.

Tell them all to take a hike and go solar! and wind! Prices are coming down now!
In 1993, I bought 4 55 watt Kyocera panels (still working and looking like new today) for $500 each. Last month, I bought a 290 watt panel for $410. Once you have paid for it, you are done.
