Council greets two new members

June 12, 2012 — Susanville City Council will have two new members, Nick McBride and Brian Wilson, as well as Mayor Lino Callegari returning for another four year term.

Mayor Callegari said he has been working on several projects to try to boost the local economy.

“We’re trying to get a dialysis center happening in Susanville,” he said. “I’ve also been working on starting a Western week where participants can dress up in period clothing. We’ve been looking at having a wagon train. These are all ways to bring in tourists. I have some things to do and I want to serve the people as best as I can.”

Brian Wilson said he’s excited to be serving on the council. “The main thing we ran on is to update the general plan that hasn’t been updated since 1991.A general plan is a blueprint of what’s important to us as a community. It’s a chance for the community to come together and say what’s important.”

Nick McBride was unavailable for comment.
