Jan. 9, 2007 — As county residents in the Susanville area complain about paying fees for the city fire department to respond when they call 911 for an ambulance, smaller fire districts may look at imposing similar fees.

Fletcher Walker Elementary to receive a distinguished school award

Jan. 17, 2007 — Fletcher Walker Elementary has been notified it will receive a 2007 Title I Academic Achievement Award in recognition of the school’s improvement of its California Academic Performance Index score. Following testing last spring Fletcher Walker jumped from a score of 719 in 2005 to 763 in 2006 for a growth of 44 points.
