If you are a car buff, this weekend is meant for you! On Saturday, June 23 it's the 22nd annual Lassen County Chamber of Commerce's Main Street Cruise in Historic Uptown Susanville. The fun begins at 2 p.m. with custom stock and classic cars and motorcycles. It's free admission and promises to be fun for the whole family. Main Street will be closed to traffic. There will be a street dance on Pancera Plaza from 7 to 9 p.m.

TIME TO PLAY GAMES

Margie's Book Nook in cooperation with Primo Deli in Uptown Susanville will be hosting a two-hour board and card game session from 3 to 5 p.m. this Thursday, June 21 at the deli.

David Teeter, manager of Margie's Book Nook, said, "It's open to all players of all ages, there will be several games there, but feel free to bring your favorite game to play."

David will be teaching the game, "Small Worlds" to those interested.

EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR

The Lassen County Fair is hosting its annual luncheon to honor employees at noon Friday, July 20 on the north grandstand lawn. You are encouraged to bring your employees, staff and other faculty that make a difference in your workplace.

PLUMAS BANK HIRES CREDIT MANAGER

Michael Henry has joined Plumas Bank as vice president, administrative group manager. Kerry Wilson, senior vice president, credit administrator, said Michael would be responsible for general credit administration duties. That includes updating and maintaining credit policies, helping structure and review loans, and managing various loan departments within the bank.

Michael has 10 years of banking experience, most recently as vice president, commercial portfolio review team leader at a bank in Phoenix, Ariz. He holds a master’s degree in business administration with an emphasis in finance and a bachelor of science degree in sociology. He and his family relocated from Mesa, Ariz. to Quincy and are very eager to be involved in the community.

ART AROUND THE LAKE

Local artisan Edith Schwirian wants to remind you it’s time again for the annual Art Around the Lake tour in Chester. The tour is set from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, July 21.Tickets are already available from venue artists and the proceeds benefit art in local schools.Schwirian tells us she has lots of new, one-of-a-kind jewelry designs she will be showcasing at this event.
