Lassen girl’s basketball advance, Lassen soccer falls out of playoffs

Feb. 22 — The Lassen High varsity girl’s basketball team advanced to the second round of the Northern Section CIF Division IV playoffs after defeating the Yreka Miners 60-44 at home, yesterday, Tuesday, Feb. 21.

The Lady Grizzlies (No. 10 seed) will travel to Winters, Calif., to take on the number three seed, the Warriors.

The Lassen High soccer programs fell out of the Northern Section CIF Division I playoffs in the semi-final round on the road, yesterday, Tuesday, Feb. 21.

The Lady Grizzlies fell to the Cardinals in Corning, Calif., 3-0, and the Grizzlies fell to the Las Plumas Thunderbirds 3-1.

The Lassen High varsity boy’s basketball team (No. 10 seed) will have its first test in the Division IV playoffs at 7 p.m., tonight Wednesday, Feb. 22, at West Valley to take on the No. 7 seed, the Eagles.

The Herlong High varsity girl’s basketball team (No. 11 seed) also have their first test today at 7 p.m. as they travel to Dorris, Calif., to take on the No. 6 seed, Butte Valley.
