Just Kidding Around Kids Club in Janesville is getting all geared up for their summer program. They have a variety of guest teachers coming. They will be taking field trips to areas around Susanville. Plus they plan on pizza parties, water days and some daytime camping. FREE FRUIT TASTING
Melissa McCoy, owner of Every Bloomin' Thing, along with Burchell Nursery is hosting a free fruit tasting at 1 p.m. this Saturday, June 16. Melissa is so excited to bring the community this event. You will be able to taste the fruit you like and then plant the tree which produces that fruit. Melissa said she will be receiving a large shipment of fruit trees just before the event.
CELEBRATING 100 YEARS
Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Susanville is planning a weekend celebration honoring their 100 years of service to the community. Open to the public, Saturday June 23, they are having a dinner and dance at Monsignor Moran Hall. A limited number of tickets are available for this event. See their ad in this week's paper for a list of where tickets are available.
At Sunday's Mass there will be a dedication of a historic bell donated by the Ladies of the Sacred Heart, followed by a special program and luncheon held in the afternoon.
CAMP GRIZZ
Longtime basketball coaches Dorinda Shaffer and Jessica Larson are hosting the annual Camp Grizz 2012. The camp is open to boys and girls ages 8 to 15. The camp is set for June 18-21. TAKE A BUS RIDE
Lassen Senior Services is teaming up with Lassen Rural Bus in organizing a Susanville Fun Ride at 10 a.m. June 13. They will meet at Lassen Senior Services and take the around Susanville town route, returning for lunch at the Senior Center at 1700 Sunkist Dr. There will be another ride around town afterward. The goal is to show people how easy it is to use Lassen Rural Bus.
CINDERELLA IN SUSANVILLE
J and J Performing Arts is having its 9th Annual Spring Recital titled Cinderella at 7 p.m. June 15 and 16 at the Veterans Memorial Hall in Susanville.There is a Princess Tea Party before the show at 2 p.m. June 16. JOHNNY CASH TRIBUTE CONCERT
The Lassen County Arts Council will be holding a Johnny Cash tribute concert from 6 to 9 p.m. June 20 at the Lassen County Fairgrounds.Bring a blanket or chair to enjoy this summer evening of music. Local musician Jason Wheeler will be opening and there will be food and drinks available for purchase. Contact the arts council for tickets.
