In celebration of National Charter School's week, Long Valley Charter School will be holding an open house at their 900 Main Street location. The open house is set for 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 4.

MOMMY AND BABY
B.A.B.E. Community, the non-profit division of Blessed Babies and Bellies Boutique, is now hosting a baby-wearing group and a breastfeeding support group at the Lassen Library. The baby-wearing group meets the second and fourth Tuesdays each month from 2-4 p.m. and is a resource for parents who wear their babies and toddlers or who are interested in learning how to use a variety of carriers safely and properly. Unfamiliar with baby-wearing? Find out about the hands-free convenience!
The breastfeeding support group meets on the first and third Fridays each month from 10-12 a.m. to be a source of advice and encouragement for nursing mothers. It is a safe place for mothers to share their struggles and victories, and be supported and encouraged by other nursing mothers. Drop in any-time during the meeting. CUSTOMER APPRECIATION DAYS ARE HERE
It’s time for the annual Customer Appreciation community-shopping event. This year 26 merchants are participating to offer you great specials throughout the town, and you can get the scoop in the special insert in this week’s paper. You’ll find everything from jewelry and home décor, to cars, bikes, outdoor furniture and extra discounts at your favorite local grocery stores and much, much more. Be sure to start entering the free shopping sprees because starting Tuesday through Friday, one merchant per day will be selected to pick a $50 Daily Drawing Dollar Winner from their store box. Plus all entries will be eligible for one of three $100 shopping sprees.
The Lassen County Times is taking donations of lap blankets to donate to Banner Lassen Medical Center this week, too. On Friday, May 6, the merchants will be serving up delicious appetizers for your shopping enjoyment. With Mother’s Day this weekend, there’s no better time to get out with your family and friends for a fun week of shopping around town. You’ll be amazed at the great deals you will find right here in your hometown. GRAND OPENING OPEN HOUSE
Northeastern Rural Health Center will be hosting an open house from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, May 5, in collaboration, with Owens Pharmacies grand opening. The health center will be demonstrating their new Telemedicine services. In addition to enjoying complimentary appetizers, you can enter their drawing to win a television.
HERTZ AUTHORIZED RESALE DEALER
Jack Pastor, at Airport Auto Sales, tells us they are now the Northern California authorized Hertz resale dealer. “In addition to being the area Hertz rental dealer, we’ve expanded to offer their vehicles for sale in Susanville,” said Pastor. Hertz is in the process of retiring the 2010 models.
