Nov. 7, 2006 - Last summer, the Accreditation Commission for Community and Junior Colleges put Lassen Community College on warning. The commission is responsible for evaluating and accrediting dozens of colleges in the western region.

Burns will not seek the death penalty in Silva murder case

Nov. 7, 2006 - Lassen County District Attorney Robert Burns will re-try Benjamin Wai Silva for the gruesome 1981 murder of Kevin Thorpe, but the DA said he will not seek the death penalty.
