Teams make it to the semi-finals

Feb. 24 — The Lassen High girl’s basketball and the Westwood High boy’s basketball teams found themselves moving to the semi-final round of the playoffs after contests played Thursday, Feb. 23.

The Lady Grizzlies (No. 6 seed) snuck by the Winters Warriors (No. 3 seed) in a 58-54 win on the road for the Northern Section CIF Division IV playoffs. The Lady Grizzlies will take on the Anderson Cubs (No. 2 seed) at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 28, in the semi-final round away.

The Jacks dominated the visiting Princeton Eagles (No. 9 seed) in a 65-45 win in their first appearance in the Northern Section CIF Division VI playoffs. The Jacks, in the top seed, move to the semi-final round Tuesday, Feb. 28, to take on the Happy Camp Indians (No. 5 seed).

The Westwood High girl’s basketball team (No. 1 seed) has their first challenge in the Division VI playoffs at 7 p.m., tonight, Friday, Feb. 24, at home against Big Valley (No. 8 seed).
