The Susanville Super Tata's (not Susanville Supermarket Tata's) is having their fundraiser at the T&A Lounge from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday, July 26. Rachelle Surian informs us all tips go to their Relay For Life team.
FUNDRAISER FOR K9 UNIT DOG
Monte and Joanie Keilty, animal lovers and owners of Treats Dog Company (in Susanville and Chester), have been working with the Lassen County Sheriff's Department to help get a K9 unit for their department. They are hosting a fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 29 at the Susanville store. Monte tells us there will be lots of door prizes, goodies and they are even having a car wash. All the proceeds raised will go to the Lassen County K9 Association to procure a trained police dog, outfit a vehicle and train an officer. What a great cause that will benefit the entire community.
GLUTEN-FREE TASTING AT THE HEALTH NUT THIS THURSDAY
Gourmet cook Linda Owings will be offering delicious, gluten-free summer pasta salad and desserts by Namaste Foods from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Thursday, July 26 at The Health Nut.
Linda will also be giving away coupons and free recipes, and you'll be able to sign up for a free drawing for a chance to win some delicious Namaste products.While you're at the Health Nut, be sure to check out their other new gluten-free foods, including Organicville gluten-free barbeque sauce, Lundberg wasabi rice chips, rustic gluten-free pizza crust and bulk gluten-free oatmeal at a great low price.
JOB SKILLS HELP
Alliance for Workforce Development, Inc is hosting several workshops in August. Aug. 2 is resume writing, Aug. 9 is introduction to computer lab for job search, Aug. 16 is interview skills and Aug. 23 is GED introduction. All workshops have limited space; you can call them at 257-5057 to reserve your space. The workshops will be held at their 1616 Chestnut St. location in Susanville.

Today, Tuesday, July 24 is the last day to sign up for the Lassen Youth Football Camp Grizz being held Saturday, July 28 and Sunday, July 29 at Lassen High School. FREE TRIBUTE CONCERT
Diamond Mountain Casino and Hotel will be hosting the Guns n’ Roses tribute concert Saturday, July 28. The concert is free to anyone 21 and older and starts at 8 p.m. So if you are looking to get out on the town this Saturday night, head on over to the Casino for good food, fun and the music of the Guns n’ Roses band. JOIN OUR CELEBRATION
Pat Lindgren-Kurtz, author of “Picking Willows with Daisy and Lilly Baker, Maidu Basket Makers of Lake Almanor,” will be signing her book at Margie’s Book Nook in Uptown Susanville from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday July 28. The book is a compelling memoir and a valuable anthropological and cultural record, according to Margie Teeter, owner of the Book Nook.
Margie also wants to remind everyone there is only one more week to find Waldo in Susanville. The big hunt ends with a party at 5 p.m. Tuesday, July 31 at Margie’s Book Nook. All of the hunters are invited to come to the party for refreshments and drawings. All of the Waldo buttons have been taken but hunters can still find Waldo and sign up for the drawings. Grand prize is an iPad contributed by Lassen PC.
