Roadside blasting to take place next week
Monday, May 21 — blasting along Highway 299 east of the Four Corners area outside of Burney. Travelers can expect 10 minutes to 1/2-hour delays.
Tuesday, May 22 — blasting in the Fenders Ferry Road area on Highway 299 west of Montgomery Creek, with delays of up to a 1/2-hour.
Wednesday, May 23 — blasting will take place at the vista point on Highway 36 west of Mineral (post mile 72.6), with traffic control with 10-minute delays and stopped traffic.
These blasting operations eliminate loose rocks that could potentially fall to the roadway on their own. Mobile message signs and radio messages on 1610 AM will alert drivers to the blasting operations taking place.
