This year the Lassen County Fair gets off to a start Tuesday, July 17 with an all-new event. Souza's Bucking Bulls presents the Smackdown Bull Riding Tour at 7 p.m. This event will be held in the North Arena at the fairgrounds. Tickets are now on sale at the fair office. Be sure and ask about the family pass. Anyone can sign up to be in the competition, too.

If you are a car buff, this weekend is meant for you! On Saturday, June 23 it's the 22nd annual Lassen County Chamber of Commerce's Main Street Cruise in Historic Uptown Susanville. The fun begins at 2 p.m. with custom stock and classic cars and motorcycles. It's free admission and promises to be fun for the whole family. Main Street will be closed to traffic. There will be a street dance on Pancera Plaza from 7 to 9 p.m.

Just Kidding Around Kids Club in Janesville is getting all geared up for their summer program. They have a variety of guest teachers coming. They will be taking field trips to areas around Susanville. Plus they plan on pizza parties, water days and some daytime camping. If your child is between the ages of 5 and 12 and looking for some fun things to do this summer, give Lori Furtado at Just Kidding Around a call at 257-0303.

Do you wish you had a green thumb and knew how to plant flowers in pots? Well you don't have to know how to do it yourself. The garden gurus at Every Bloomin' Thing will do it for you this Sunday, June 10. Just bring in two pots (up to 14 inches in diameter), pick out your flowers and they will pot them for free. Join them from 1 to 4 p.m. for free potting day.

On Saturday, June 16 they are having a free fruit tasting at 1 p.m. Owner Melissa McCoy invites everyone out for these events. They simply have everything you need to have a fabulous yard, patio and garden.
