Nakanishi dies in hospital

June 22, 2012 — Brian Taylor, an attorney and friend of the Nakanishi family, reported Jon Alan Nakanishi, 42, of Susanville, died Thursday, June 21 at Tahoe Forest Hospital in Truckee. His death was the result of injuries sustained during a rafting trip on the Truckee River Saturday, June 16.

Taylor wrote, “Jon’s family would like to sincerely thank Tahoe Forest hospital, their physicians and staff for the excellent and compassionate care they provided.”

Hospital staff said they could not confirm Nakanishi’s death or provide any other information.

Nakanishi was a candidate in the Lassen County Superior Court race in the November election.

So hard to believe. Just weeks ago he was at my door introducing himself in his run for judge. Prayers for the Nakanishi family. May God comfort and keep you close during this trying time.

Losing Jon is what we prayed wouldn't happen. God had different plans. We have all lost a great man that would have served Lassen County well, but his Family has lost a loving Son, Brother, Husband, and Father. This news is heartbreaking. God rest Jon's soul, and God Bless his family.
