New principal on board at Lassen High

May 9, 2012 — A new principal has been hired for Lassen and Credence high schools.

Robin Pedrett, currently vice principal at Pyramid Lake Junior/Senior High School in Nixon, Nev., was hired at a Tuesday, May 8 board meeting of the Lassen Union High School District Board of Trustees.

The board considered the employment item in closed session and afterward board president Chuck Spence announced the unanimous decision.

Pedrett is taking the position currently held by Tom Ready who gave his resignation as principal earlier this year.

He will be staying at LHS as the drama teacher, a job he held before becoming an administrator. Current drama teacher Chelsea Stoy gave her resignation, which was alsoapproved during the board meeting.

Pedrett introduced herself to the board and shared abouther education experience and family.

She said, “The gifts that I bring is a nice mix of an interest and love of agriculture, also I’ve worked very hard in understanding student learning.”

Pedrett brings experience in improving test scores, working at a Native American school, in special and alternative education settings and with students who are English as second language learners.

She also coached sports for 23 years.

Well good luck to her...i hope it does work out as a positive for our students ...a change is what we needed here a fresh perspective and hopefully a stand up person :)
