Drivers safety course offered in Susanville

July 6, 2012 — AARP is providing a driving safety program in Susanville for people 50 and over.

The first class is scheduled for Thursday, July 26. A second one is set for Thursday, Aug. 23.

For times and locations, and to register for the class in Susanville, call Dorothy Coberly at 257-3743 and leave your name and complete phone number, or contact the AARP Drivers Safety Program at (877) 846-3299 or aarp.org.

According to Tom Rigney, who will be teaching the class, the program is a refresher course and will provide updates on new laws and for people to have their questions answered.

After completing the 8-hour course, participants will receive a Drivers Certificate of Completion, which is good for three years.

Drivers can take the certificate to their insurance company to see if they qualify for up to a 10 percent discount.
