LITTLE MR./MISS PLAY DAY
Little Mr. and Little Miss Lassen County play day will be held Saturday, June 11 at the Lassen County Fairgrounds. DEMOLITION DERBY AT THE FAIR
The Lassen County Fair is now accepting entries for the 2011 Demolition Derby and Rock Crawl during the fair. The Derby and Rock Crawl will be held at 6 p.m. July 24. Entry forms for both events are due by 5 p.m. on July 1 and are available on the Fair’s website lassencountyfair.org and in the fair office.

IT'S FARMERS MARKET TIME!
Lassen Land and Trails Trust is hosting the 2011 Farmers' Market, and it kicks off this Saturday, June 4. It's from 8 a.m. to noon every Saturday. You will find fresh produce, local artists, delicious homemade pastries and so much more.

GRAND OPENING
Need to take time out of your busy schedule to take care of your personal wellness & beauty needs? Stop by for the grand opening of the Time Out Salon from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 4 at 2055 Main St., Susanville and see their huge selection of products and beauty designs. Liz Agee, owner will be merging businesses with the Men’s Room Barber Shop to offer services for men, women and children. Walter Andrew Ransom Smith was born last week to local licensed aesthetician (of Adagio Beauty and Wellness) Jimi Sturgen-Smith and her husband Douglas Smith of Susanville. Congratulations to the proud new parents of Walter!

HONEY LAKE HOSPICE TO BENEFIT
Honey Lake Hospice, a local non-profit organization, will receive a donation of profits from the Marine Corps League’s Community Breakfast scheduled for this Saturday, June 4.  The breakfast will be held from 7-11 a.m. at the Veterans Memorial Building in Susanville, and representatives from Honey Lake Hospice will be on hand to answer questions and offer information about its programs and services.  The profits will be donated to Honey Lake Hospice to help them further their goal of providing hospice care to the local community.

NEW NAME, EXPANDED SERVICES
The Lassen Career Network in Susanville and its counterpart on the other side of the hill in Quincy and Plumas Work Connection, have a new name: Business and Career Network. Providing pathways to success, they also have offices in Modoc, Sierra and Butte counties. These convenient one-stop employment centers provide an array of business and job seeker services and solutions. In addition to having a job-ready applicant pool, customized recruitments, HR resources, workshops, customized training, job fairs and career development assistance, their resource centers with conference rooms and computer labs are available for business owners and job seekers.

NEW PIZZA
Judy and Lorin Galassi, owners of Papa Murphy's in Susanville, now have a new pizza. The all-new Thai Chicken deLite pizza is now available. This pizza is topped with sweet chili sauce, grilled chicken, veggies and more.
Judy also tells us they are now back to their summer hours, open until 9 p.m. every night. Remember they also have gift cards available.

NEW SIGNS ARE UP
Geoff Hampton, general manager at Susanville Ford and Auto Center, tells us they are pleased to have their new Ford, Dodge, Chrysler and Jeep dealer signs up at their Richmond Road and Highway 395 location.
