Burglary investigation leads to four arrests
Dean Adams, 35, Roger Stephens, 27, Michael Spillers, 23, and Loren Gelwick, 51, all of Lassen County, were charged with burglary and conspiracy. The case has been forwarded to the Lassen County District Attorney for prosecution.
According to a press release from LCSO sergeant Kevin Jones, deputies responded to a report of a burglary in the area of Belfast Road in Lassen County on Monday, Aug. 20.
According to the press release, among many of the items taken were two ATV’s, hunting and fishing equipment, camping supplies and miscellaneous tools. These and other items stolen were estimated to be worth more than $25,000.
On Tuesday, Aug. 21, deputies recovered many of the stolen items and subsequently issued arrest warrants for Dean Adams, 35, and Roger Stephens, 27.
On Saturday, Aug. 25, Adams and Stephens were allegedly involved in an altercation with each other and were arrested on those warrants by the Plumas County Sheriff’s Office in Chester.
According to the press release, as the investigation continued, arrest warrants were then issued for Michael Spillers, 23, and Loren Gelwick. They were taken into custody Aug. 27.
