Sheriff to serve on state board

July 17, 2012 — California Governor Jerry Brown announced Friday, July 13 he has appointed Lassen County Sheriff Dean Growdon, 41, to the Board of State and Community Corrections.

Growdon has been the sheriff-coroner for Lassen County since 2011 and has served in multiple positions at the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office since 1994, including assistant sheriff, lieutenant, sergeant, deputy sheriff and correctional officer.

This position requires Senate confirmation, and there is no compensation. Growdon is a Republican.
