Dec. 13, 2011 — As I scurried around my house last night gathering things for my trip I realized at 40 years old I have never traveled alone.
That’s when it donned on me this is Teresa’s Big Adventure.
I have certainly taken trips in my lifetime. I went to Mexico following my high school graduation with a group of graduates.
Susanville and Lassen County enjoy a justly earned reputation for giving to the less fortunate among us — not just during the holiday season — but throughout the year.
Personally, I can’t walk by a Salvation Army bell ringer and a Red Kettle without donating a dollar or two. I just can’t.
The courage and sacrifice of America’s Greatest Generation — those who grew up during the Great Depression and then fought in the world war that followed the War to End All Wars — found its first expression of incredible heroism during the unprovoked attack at Pearl Harbor.
