The Lassen High School boy’s soccer team held an end-of-the-season awards ceremony in the Lassen High Student Center on Thursday, March 20. Tuesday, March 25 — The Lassen High School boy’s soccer team celebrated the 2013-2014 season with an awards ceremony in the Lassen High Student Center on Thursday, March 20.
Lassen High head boy’s soccer coach Andrew Fisher handed out awards to several players, some of which were decided by the team and its coaches, and some given out by the Northern Athletic League.
The award for Best Offensive Player went to Jake Morgan who averages .462 goals per game this season, as well as .462 assists.
Dalton Reed received the award for Best Defensive Player.
Garrison Collier was named the Most Improved Player.
Fisher awarded Jesus Garibo, Jayce Gray, Rafael Hechurie and Carlson Hernandez with the Coach’s Award.
Carson Friedline, who averaged .533 goals per game and .267 assists per game, was named MVP.
Bo Morgan was recognized for maintaining a 4.0 GPA during the soccer season.
The awards for All-League went to Friedline and Reed.
The Grizzlies soccer team finished the season with an overall record of 5-10-1 and a league record of 4-5-1. The team was ranked fourth in the Northern Athletic League, ahead of Anderson and Central Valley high schools.
