Festival increases awareness of Domestic Violence Awareness Month

Oct. 10, 2006 - Lassen Family Services kicked off October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month with the Blues Not Bruises Festival at the Susanville Elks Lodge on Saturday, Sept. 30.
 

WALA Endurance Challenge nets over $9,000

Oct 10, 2006 — During a Lassen County Alcohol and Drug Stakeholder’s meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 27, Alcohol and Drug counselor Lyle Dornon said while working in treatment programs in the Los Angeles area, the typical client deaths were related to heroine addiction.
  

West Valley power project still viable

Oct 10, 2006 — The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission recently dealt a blow to the controversial West Valley power project, planned for the North Fork of the Pit River, near Likely, when it sent a letter to the Idaho-based project developer, Nick Josten, dismissing his exemption application.
