Richmond School holding fundraiser for local boy

April 13, 2013 — The Richmond School Leadership team is organizing a fundraiser for David Scarbrough, a local Susanville boy who was born with cerebral palsy and has to have a series of surgeries to put hamstring extensions in his legs.

The leadership team is having a yard sale/flea market from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 20. They will be selling 15 by 15 foot areas, tables available per request, for $20.

You pay for the space but keep the profits from your sales. If you are interested in participating and would like to purchase a spot, call Mrs. Mallery at 257-2338.

 

Fundraiser gymkhana, April 14

April 12, 2013 — Come out for the Hooves and Angels Horse Rescue gymkhana fundraiser Sunday, April 14 at the Janesville Horse Arena.

Sign ups start at 9 a.m. and events start at 10 a.m. Events include cloverleaf barrels, pole bending, single stake, big T and quadrangle.

All proceeds go to Hooves and Angles Horse Rescue hay fund. For more information, call Frankie Luallen at 254-6631 or (209) 728-5429.

  

Multiple vehicle vandalism in Susanville

April 11, 2013 — According to a press release from the Susanville Police Department, multiple thefts from locked and unlocked vehicles in the North Roop Street and Cherry Terrace area occurred sometime between late evening Monday, April 8 and early morning Tuesday, April 9.

The unknown suspects gained access to the locked vehicles by smashing out their windows.

The police department is encouraging anyone with information about these incidents to call their 24-hour dispatch line at 257-2171. You may remain anonymous if you wish. 

  

Tentative ruling orders clerk to accept rejected Hanson recall petitions

April 11, 2012 — Visiting Lassen County Superior Court judge Charles H. Ervin issued a tentative ruling Wednesday, April 10 approving a writ of mandate to compel Lassen County Clerk Julie Bustamante to accept 70 recall petition sheets she said she had previously rejected.
