LHS heads back into WSL play
Spring break is over and it's time to get busy. Lassen High School's softball team continues its defense of the Westside League title this week, traveling to Gridley today and hosting Oroville at 4 p.m. Friday, April 12 at Susanville's Riverside Park.
The grizzlies beat Corning for their first league win and competed at the Reed Tournament Friday-Saturday, March 29-30 and lost three of four games.
Lassen (13-9) dropped Galena 7-4, but fell to Foothill of Redding 3-0, Reno High School 8-3 and Livermore 9-0.
Against Galena, Lassen pounded out 14 hits. Alisha Perdue and Nicolette Stokes went 3-for-4. Lee Robertson and Megan Bera had two hits.
Danielle Hardy picked up the win, fanning nine and walking just one in six innings of work.
Robertson and Stokes were named to the all-tournament team. Robertson reached base 11 of 13 times during the tournament.
Against Reno, Robertson, Danielle Bera, Perdue, Brittney Mack and Roxanna Franco had hits.
Robertson collected two hits against Foothill. Megan Lybarger struck out seven Cougars.
