Tuesday, March 3, 2015 — The Lassen County Board of Supervisors have tabled signing a declaration and petition for the state of Jefferson and requested adding and changing language to the document.
The decision was made in a 3-to-1 vote during a Tuesday, Feb. 24 meeting.
The supervisors requested an emphasis be added on overturning Reynolds v. Sims and adding language describing the perceived wrongs the state has imposed on counties.
Supervisors Jeff Hemphill, Bob Pyle and Aaron Albaugh voted yes while Jim Chapman voted no.
Tabling the issue also allows Supervisor Tom Hammond, who was not in attendance, to be able to vote on the matter scheduled to be on the board’s March 17 agenda.
