LHS golf team stretches its lead
Lassen High School's golf team stretched its lead in the Westside League last week at Southridge Golf Course in Sutter. The Grizzlies are set to run the table in the WSL with three league meets remaining.
As a team, Lassen's golfers carded the most consistent round with Travis Dunn leading the way. Dunn fired a 42 on the front nine and 40 coming in for a 82.
Dunn was followed by teammates Corey Brown (84), Kevin Spirk (86), Grant Harnish, Jesse Abshire and Jack Lunsford with 89s.
Entering this week's play, Brown stands in third place in the league individual standings, trailed by Dunn in fourth and Spirk in sixth. The top-seven golfers receive all-league honors.
Oroville's Reid Scarff remains atop the WSL order of merit after firing a meet-low 75 at Southridge.
Lassen travels to Glenn Country Club in Willows on Thursday, April 18 for its next league meet.
The Grizzlies then compete in the Las Plumas Invitational in Oroville Tuesday, April 23 and hit the road again for their fourth league meet in Red Bluff with Corning serving as the host.
