Teen cited for causing debris fire

Thursday, March 19, 2015 — At 6:45 p.m. Monday, March 9, the Susanville Fire Department responded to a debris fire, located at 2900 Main St. (Walmart) in Susanville.

On arrival of the first-in engine company, multiple bales of cardboard were found to be on fire. Assistance was provided by Susan River Fire Protection District and Cal Fire to completely extinguish the fire. The extent of the fire resulted in damage to 14 bales of cardboard valued at $5,600.

A total of four fire engines responded to the incident. The Susanville Police Department and the Susanville Fire Department conducted the investigation and worked with Walmart to obtain surveillance footage and identified suspects.
