Wednesday, May 6, 2015 — Gardening is not only a way to provide families with fresh organic produce, it can also be a therapeutic hobby.
Its benefits are the reasons why one Lassen County resident is working to start a local community garden.
According to Kate Hansen, who is spearheading the project, people will be able to purchase a raised garden bed for a nominal fee to grow food.
“Food, flowers and organic only is kind of what we’re going for,” she said.
The community garden will be located behind Crossroads Ministries, which will be managing it.
