Thursday, May 14, 2015 — Banner Lassen Medical Center’s surgery department wants to show the public what goes on behind those closed doors.
Except for the health care providers, not many people get to see what it’s like in an operating room unless they are going in for surgery. The surgery department wants to share what they do in an inviting way by hosting an open house for the public and local physicians from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, May 14. The staff will offer door prizes, refreshments, gifts, tours, information about services offered at Banner Lassen and the opportunity to meet with surgeons and surgical staff members.
“Last month Banner Lassen Medical Center received a four-star rating on a scale of five stars from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services,” said Cathy Harshbarger, chief executive officer for Banner Lassen.
