Sunday, May 24, 2015 — Another year is winding down for Lassen FBLA and members’ efforts and accomplishments were recognized during an awards banquet May 3.
New this year is the presentation of the Business Partner of the Year awarded to Susanville Supermarket IGA for its continuous contributions,  including being a huge help when Lassen FBLA hosted the sectional conference in February.
Co-advisor Kerrissa Schall presented the award to manager Todd Eid.

For some FBLA members, this marks their last year as a participant as they will be graduating in June. This year’s co-presidents, Jacob Escobar and Jacob Kitley, presented their peers with stoles to wear during the June 5 graduation ceremony.
In order to receive a stole a senior must attend 80 percent of the meetings and be involved in three activities.
Members Johnathan Chapman and Deann Davidson were awarded the FBLA Member of the Year, presented to a member, not just officers, for going above and beyond, never asked, but always offering.
It was a momentous year for Lassen FBLA as the sectional conference was held in Susanville for the first time in 60 years. The event drew 500 FBLA members, advisors and parents from the North State to the community.
During the event, advisor Dawn Egan was announced as FBLA Northern Sectional Advisor of the Year.
Freshman Rebecca May also delivered her first speech during the conference. She then traveled to state and she will travel to compete at nationals in Chicago.
During the state conference in April, the Lassen FBLA was recognized as Outstanding Chapter, and received the Government Awareness Project Award, Go Green Environmental Awareness award and March of Dimes award.
The awards banquet concluded with the announcement of next year’s officers and support team.
The FBLA members also took the opportunity to recognize Egan and co-advisor Kerrissa Schall.
Officers are: co-presidents — Jacob Atkinson, Emily Egan and Hailey Chittock; co-vice presidents — Ben Cunningham and Makinzie Wheeler; treasurer — Michael Watts; secretary — Hailey Flemming; public relations — Rebecca May; historian — Deanna Lewis; parliamentarian — Sam Yonan; sentinel — Hailey Hanna.
Support team: social chair — Tatum Uruburu and Jodi Vicondoa; fundraising — Mykela Nimmo and Alyssa Mineau; travel chair — Terron Dunten.
