Tuesday, May 26, 2015 — With the proposed Mental Health Services Act Innovation Plan, Lassen Behavioral Health clients may find themselves benefiting from assistance delivered right to their home.
According to Melody Brawley, director of Lassen County Health and Social Services, the county’s plan is intended to be a form of field research, to explore new ideas and solutions and report back to the state on what did and did not happen and what worked.
“Our innovation plan calls for the use of technology to help us stay connected with and monitor the health of our most at-risk patients who are diagnosed with serious and/or chronic mental illness,” Brawley said
Fully-integrated computers with touch screens and Internet connection will be placed in patients’ homes and will facilitate a holistic health to recovery.
