CHARLES FRANK SWEET
Charles Frank Sweet was born on May 13, 1929 to Stanley and Virginia Sweet of Jamestown, N.Y. He died Dec. 7, 2007.
He married Martha Jane Boulanger on Dec. 23, 1950.
He served in the United Stated Air Force for 1950-1954, and is a Korean War veteran.
Chuck moved from New York with his wife and children in 1964 to Seattle, Wash. He worked for Olympia Brewing Company until 1972, moving from Seattle, to Spokane, Wash., to Reno, Nev., to Salt Lake City, Utah – before moving to Susanville. He was co-owner of Lassen Beverage for eight years.
He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and past commander of VFW Post #2381. He was a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge and a member of the Susanville United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, mother and sister Barbara Gatto.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Martha; son Brad Sweet, of Susanville; daughter Pattie Alexander, of Standish, Calif., and her husband Lee; grandson Nathan Sheehy, of Beale AFB and his wife, Lisa, and children Nolan and Naomi; granddaughter Cara Van Elderen, of Scottsdale, Ariz., and her husband Sean.
A memorial service is to be held at 2 p.m. on Dec. 21, 2007 at Susanville United Methodist Church, 70 South Lassen Street.

Rayanna Serenity Baer, 2 months and 26 days old, died on Monday, Dec. 10, 2007. She was born on Sept. 11, 2007 in Susanville, Calif.
She is survived by her parents, Robert and Rebecca Baer, of Westwood, Calif.; grandmothers Linda Peacock, of Oroville, Calif., and Donna Carrillo, of Westwood; brother William Michael Smith, of Westwood; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Memorial services are scheduled to be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 22, 2007 at the Lake Almanor Community Church.

Betty Jean Petersen, of Rio Rancho, N.M., age 81, died on Friday, Dec. 14, 2007. She was born on Jan. 26, 1926 in Reno, Nev.
A chapel service will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saint on Richmond Road at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2007. A burial will be at Diamond Crest Cemetery next to her Husband Don.
