Warrant issued for burglary suspect

Aug. 12, 2008 — An $18,000 bench warrant was issued on Monday, Aug. 4 for a burglary suspect who failed to appear in court. Robert John Mullen, 24, faces felony charges of vandalism, burglary and conspiracy to commit burglary.

According to the court file, Mullen allegedly removed an air conditioner from a Susanville business and then entered the business through the hole where the air conditioner had been.

The conspiracy charge alleges Mullen and Steven Michael Friend “met together and proceeded to the alley” behind the business before Mullen entered the building.

According to the court file, Mullen “planned to break in to businesses in Susanville to commit larceny, obtained bolt cutters to cut locks on businesses in Susanville,” and “proceeded to other businesses with the same intent and broke into them.”
