Jack D. Brewer, 52, of Susanville, Calif. died on Jan. 5, 2009 at his residence in Susanville Calif. Jack was a resident of Susanville for the last five years of his life. He came to live with his big sis, Patsy Jimenez.
Jack was born on May 12, 1956 in Redding Calif. He is survived by his son Douglas A. Brewer; daughter Laura D. Walters; and Sister Patsy D. Jimenez; all of Susanville; sister Glenda L. Ziegler of Los Molinos, Calif; half–brother George A. Brewer of Ariz.; and including Nancy Crittenden, Kyla Selsor, and the best medical team Dr. John C. Dozier, Edee Padgett LVN, Nursing staff at Quincy Home Medial Services, and Banner Lassen ER.
Memorial services were held on Jan. 10, 2009 at Diamond Mountain Casino in Susanville, Calif. Services were attended by family members and friends from Redding, Shingletown, and Susanville, Calif.

Lifelong resident Carmella A. Farrace (Carmie) passed away peacefully from this life on Dec. 31. 2008. She was born Oct. 11, 1930.
For many years Carmie worked on her father’s ranch along with her sisters Mary and Emma selling alfalfa and fresh produce.
She was an excellent student and after graduating from junior college she went to work at the Herlong Army Depot in he procurement office for 18 years. She then was employed by the BLM as a records clerk for an additional 22 years.
She was an avid walker, walking the fields at her home and singing her favorite tunes.
She is survived by her beloved sister Emma Freeman and numerous cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents Joe and Josephine Ferrace and her sister Mary.
A mass of Christian burial was held on Jan. 12, 2009.
Remembrances can be made to the Alzheimer’s fund or a charity of your choice.
TERRY WAYNE SKINNER
Following a valiant battle with cancer, Doyle and longtime Chilcoot resident, Terry Wayne Skinner peacefully passed from this life with his loving family at his side, early Tuesday morning, Jan. 6, 2009 at his residence.
Born just 55 years ago to Clifford and Florine (Smith) Skinner on Nov. 7, 1953 in Columbia, S.C. where he was raised and educated, Terry is a 1971 graduate of Lower Richmond High School in Columbia.
Shortly following his high school graduation Terry moved to California where he attended college for a short time. After three years, he relocated to Reno, Nev. before moving to Chilcoot, Calif. where he resided for 22 years before moving to Doyle four years ago. Terry has been employed as a hoist operator at the Herlong Army Depot for the past couple of years.
While attending a horse show he met a pretty young cowgirl named Gail Schafer. Their love for one another blossomed and the two were united in matrimony in Reno, Nev. March 20, 1985.
Terry always kept his family first. He enjoyed bonding with his daughters showing horses and with his sons working on automobiles. He was an avid NASCAR fan.
In passing Terry leaves his best friend and loving wife; Gail of Doyle, sons; Travis and wife Sarah Skinner of Doyle, Calif., Shawn and wife Kelly of Chilcoot, daughters; Whitney and Ashley Skinner both of Doyle, father; Clifford Skinner of Columbia, brother; Mitchell Smith and sister; Fay Thompson both of Columbia, along with his three grandchildren he was so proud of; Clayton, Savannah and Teagan.
He joins his mother in his eternal home.
A private family celebration of Terry's life will take place following cremation locally at Fehrman Crematory. An opportunity to express your condolences to the family along with signing the memorial guest register is available online at fehrmanmortuary.com.

Leona Grigsby, 78, died Jan. 6, 2009 at Mayers Memorial Hospital in Fall River Mills, Calif.
She was born June 26, 1930 in Stockton, Calif.
She survived by her husband, Roger Grigsby, of Bieber, Calif.; daughters, Kathy Harbert, of LeGrand, Calif. and Connie Reid, of Cheyene, Wyo.; five great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
Services were held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 12, 2009 at Hillside Cemetery, Nubieber, Calif.
Donations can be made to the Big Valley Swimming Pool Fund, Big Valley Recreation District, P.O. Box 457, Bieber, Calif. 96009, or to the Intermountain Cattle Women Association.
