Warren Raymie Harrison Berg
Warren ‘Raymie’ Harrison ‘Berg’ was born in Martinez, Calif., on July 18, 1964 to Wanda McDonald. He was born with many handicaps and the family was told he would live only three short years. But with his mother and family by his side he lived long past the doctor’s expectations.
He moved to Sacramento, Calif., where he went to special education school and was involved with Special Olympics. His mother married his stepfather Howard Berg and the family moved to Susanville, Calif., where he remained active with his Special Olympics winning many ribbons, especially in baseball throwing.
Eventually the family relocated in Herlong, Calif., where they bought a house and had it modified to accommodate his wheelchair and special needs.
He loved going to Circus Circus and playing the “chicken in a pot” game. He loved the bright lights of Reno and watching the coins fall in the trays. He had an infectious laugh and a beautiful soul. He gave “unconditional” love and “inspiration” to his family and anyone else who was blessed to know him.
On Jan. 2, 2010 he passed away at home with his family by his side.
He is survived by his mother Wanda Berg; father Howard Berg; sister Lorie Constancio, nephews Frank Patton and his wife Christina and family, Gary Dill and his wife Brandy and family, his uncle Robert McDonald wife Christy and family and aunt Judith Adame and family and extended family members including cousins, great nieces and nephews. We are all blessed to have had 45 beautiful years with him and will miss him immensely. So rest in peace our little angel boy, we are sending you home. Your sisters Tonya and Dianna, along with little D and Grandma and Grandpa are all waiting for you. “We love you Raymie.”
