Lassen High Cheerleaders excel at camp

The Lassen High cheerleading squad attended an NCA cheerleading camp held at UC-Davis July 13-16. The Lassen squad received superior ribbons for their cheers and chants and was recognized for their excellent technical and crowd involvement skills. They were one of the squads selected in the "Top Team" finals. The Lassen girls also had the honor of bringing home the "Spirit Stick."

Several of the Lassen girls were nominated for the All American National Cheerleaders Team. This nomination is awarded to those cheerleaders who display superior qualities in certain aspects of cheerleading, such as leadership, showmanship and technique. The LHS girls nominated include Megan Sowers, Missy Neilson, Holly Cochell, Ashlie Wheeler, Jessica Santos, Brittani Sossaman, Felicia Clark and Stephenie Farr. The girls were invited to perform at the Hula Bowl in Hawaii. Ashlie Wheeler and Jessica Santos were also chosen to compete for cheerleading scholarships at the Hula Bowl.
