Woman stabbed at Main Street motel
Feb. 2, 2010 — Police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the stabbing of a 26-year-old Susanville woman that took place at the Knights Inn Motel on Main Street in Susanville.
Officers from the Susanville Police Department responded to the motel around 2 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 24 and found Crystal Jean Costello in a room, suffering from multiple stab wounds.
Costello was quickly transported to Banner Lassen Medical Center for her injuries before she was sent out to Renown Medical Center in Reno, Nev. SPD captain Tom Downing said she was treated at Renown and released as of Tuesday, Jan. 26.
A press release from the Susanville Police Department said suspects in the stabbing fled prior to police arrival.
It also said the initial investigation has revealed that Costello knew the assailants. Police are saying other details are limited at this time, although the investigation is ongoing.
