CASH FOR COLLEGE   

If you have a graduating senior this year, then mark your calendar to attend the Cash for College Night on Feb. 4 in the Creative Arts Building Learning Center at Lassen College.  The program starts at 6 p.m., and participants will get a line-by-line presentation on filling out the FAFSA financial aid application.  Plus just for attending you could be entered to win an extra $1000 college scholarship.  See their ad in this week’s paper for complete details.

Deena Waddell, owner of Country Victorian Charm tells us you don’t have to panic or worry about getting that last minute Christmas gift or decorations. Deena has added a Christmas section to her store so you can shop for Christmas year round. You will find her store in Uptown Susanville.

DAFFODIL DAYS       

The American Cancer Society's Daffodil Days Program raises funds for hope and for all people facing cancer. This long-standing fundraising campaign celebrates the society's mission to eliminate cancer as a life-threatening disease by offering daffodils to donors in appreciation for their contribution.

Speaking of The Look Salon, Shawna Abrego (stylist at The Look Salon) is your local Longaberger representative. She tells us the new spring catalog is now in. They have brought back the popular pottery color eggplant. She also said it's the last chance to order retiring items, and if you can believe this, Easter baskets are now available. BASIC LIFE SUPPORT TRAINING AVAILABLE   

Mountain LifeFlight is sponsoring a Basic Life Support Skills Training and Review class on Wednesday, Feb. 24. The class will begin at 10 am at their business office on Ash Street in Susanville. The training is free to all BLS Providers who possess a current NorCal EMS card (First Responder/EMT-1). For more information contact Casey at Mountain LifeFlight’s business office.

NEW DOG TRAINING CLASSES   

Sit Spot Canine Center announces the start of dog training classes. Orientation to beginners is from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 4 at Lassen County Fairgrounds Commercial Building. Orientation is for people only, leave the pooches at home. Classes will be offered Wednesday and Thursday nights. A brand new class will also be offered this term; Cross Training for Dogs.
