NEW FACE AT HI LITES SALON
Jennifer Blackburn, owner of Hi-Lites Salon, in Susanville welcomes a new stylist to her salon. Jeanette Zielen has been a hair stylist for 27 years. “I love coloring ladies’ hair. It’s one of my favorite things to do as a stylist,” Zielen says. She is in the salon on Tuesdays only.
SPEAKING OF THE HOLIDAYS
If you are starting to think about the holidays, Christmas cards go hand in hand. Professional photographer Justin Miller, of J Charles Photography, informs us now is the time to make your portrait appointment for your Christmas cards. See his ad in this week’s paper for more information.
HARVEST TIME AT THE NURSERY
With the holidays just around the corner, Melissa McCoy, owner of Every Bloomin’ Thing, and her staff are getting ready. Next weekend for Halloween she will be giving tasty samples of holiday gourmet foods. She asks that kids wear costumes and they will receive a goodie bag. Plus you can see the premier of their Holiday Wonderland, which is filled with Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas decor.
TAKE EVERYTHING TOUR
The Lassen County Youth Ministry Network is pleased to present the Take Everything Tour, in Susanville. This free event will be this Sunday, Oct. 24 at the Veteran’s Memorial Hall on Main Street. The doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and music begins at 6 p.m. For more information you can contact Jackson at Community Church in Susanville.
LASSEN HOOPS
It’s just about that time to get ready for basketball season. Once again Lassen Hoops is getting ready to do their sign-ups. There will only be four dates in which to sign up this year. Oct. 20 and 27, then again on Nov. 3 and 10. All sign ups will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Parks and Recreation Department on Weatherlow Street in Susanville. Lassen Hoops is looking for an official logo. Any boys or girls in the third through eighth grades who would like to submit their ideas for a logo, now is the time to do it. Check out their Web site for more information.
TACOS, POPCORN, FOOTBALL & FUN
Looking for something delicious for dinner, and good friends to share it with? The Elk’s Lodge is still offering their tacos on Monday night. You can watch the game, have delicious tacos (with all the fixings), and top it off with popcorn. Dinner starts at 6 p.m., until the game is over.
PETS NEED THEIR TEETH CLEANED
Amanda Byrd, owner of Clip’N’Dales informs us she is now offering pet teeth cleaning on Thursdays. The next Thursday scheduled is Oct. 28. Call for your appointment.
