HALLOWEEN HAPPENINGS IN SUSANVILLE
Alright all you ghosts and goblins out there, time to put on your best costume and head up to Historic Uptown Susanville. It's time for the annual Safe and Sane Halloween, sponsored by the merchants and the Historic Uptown Susanville Association. The fun is from 3 to 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 29. Thanks to the Susanville Police Department, Main Street will be closed to traffic. Music will be provided by Williams Sound and Stage, with performances by House of Dance (at 3:45) and J and J Performing Arts (at 4:30). There is also a pet costume contest sponsored by Clip 'N' Dales and Treats Dog Company. Be sure and check out the kids' costume contest beginning at 4 p.m. And don't forget the annual haunted house at U.S. Bank; those ladies love to do their haunted house. It's spectacular every year.

On Saturday, Treats Dog Company is having its Halloween party. The fun begins at 1 p.m. They promise to have some ghoulish games, a dog/cat costume contest and much more. Be sure and enter the drawing for one year of free dog food.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY

Nu 2 U in Uptown Susanville just celebrated its one-year anniversary. “We’re very pleased with the outstanding community support we’ve received, and our new location has allowed us to carry so many more items” according to Eddie Aparton, store manager, “As we continue to grow, we are always looking for volunteers to help in the store and with processing donations.” Plus they’re currently looking for a truck donation to help with picking up large items. So if you or someone you know can help them out, be sure to stop by and enjoy the benefits of helping those in need. The proceeds from Nu 2 U help to support your local foster care agency.
