Biz news for Nov. 2, 2010
There is a retirement party planned for several longtime Lassen College instructors. Bernadette Chavez, Liona Baker, Tina Bishop, Rosanna Brown, Brian Tobin, Ed Mincher and John Mulcahy are all retiring. The dinner party begins at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 19 at the Diamond Mountain Casino Willow Room. Tickets are now available at the college (administration and student services buildings) or at Leslie's Jewelry. Reservations must be made by Nov. 15.

You can find out yourself when the Susanville Repertoire Company presents Van Highstrung Nov. 12 and 13 at the Susanville Elk's Lodge. NWTF BANQUET MOVED LOCATIONS
The Lassen Longbeards Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF) has had to move the location of its Nov. 6 banquet. The banquet will now be held at the National Guard Armory in Susanville. For more information about this event or to purchase tickets, call Ken at 257-7726.
NEW CAFE NOW OPEN
Gary and Dana Watson have opened a new restaurant in Susanville. The River Cafe is located next to Hodge Podge Lodge, across from Walmart on Riverside Drive. They are serving salads, soups, burgers, sandwiches, milkshakes, desserts and of course breakfast is served all day. Be sure and check out their daily breakfast and lunch specials. They are open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. seven days a week.
WINE TASTING
The Susanville Sunrise Rotary Club is hosting its eighth annual Wine Tasting and hors d'oeuvres this Friday, Nov. 5. The event is from 6 to 9 p.m. at Jensen Hall in Susanville. SENIOR CHRISTMAS BAZAAR
It’s time again for the annual Senior Bazaar and Christmas Fantasy being held at the Doyle Senior Community Center from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 5 and 6. They’ll be featuring many of your favorite homemade jams, jellies, ornaments, jewelry and many other great holiday décor and gift items. Plus you can feast on their delicious big Indian tacos all day. So get started early on your holiday shopping and head on over to Doyle this weekend.
