Dutch, as he affectionately became known, lost his mother and a young age and was forced to leave school after the sixth grade. Dutch married Pearl Scott and to this union three children were born. The marriage ended in divorce after 10 years.
His family grew by three more children after his marriage to Theresa who passed from this life in 1998. Dutch and Theresa settled in the Northeastern California lumber community of Westwood in 1960 while Dutch continued falling timber for numerous contractors throughout California, Nevada and Oregon.
An avid motorcycle enthusiast, Dutch owned many bikes throughout his life but dearly loved his Indian “dresser.” He will be remembered by many riding his bike with his dog in the basket on the rear. Dutch enjoyed riding up until turning 98. Also an accomplished bowler, he found great enjoyment in the game as well as the fellowship of the many other bowlers.
In passing, Dutch leaves his daughters; Della Fitzsimmons, of Klamath Falls, Ore., Violet Davis, of Eugene, Ore., Mary Lou Josey, of Lakeport, Calif.; sons Kenneth Davis, of Klamath Falls, Ore. And James Josey of Eureka, Calif.; a brother Clyde Davis, of La Grange, Ind.; along with numerous grand and great grandchildren. Dutch was expecting his first great great grandchild shortly.
