Craig Waugh Ibanez
Craig Waugh Ibanez, a wonderful, husband, father and employee passed away the night of March 22, 2011.
Craig loved to sing and loved music. He often sang with his wife Janie.
He is survived by his wife; children Richard, Thomas, Latisha, Kim, Jole and Cruz; his parents Ruth and Reuben Ibanez, of Reno, Nev.; stepchildren Amber, Cary and Walter, of Susanville.
A celebration of Craig’s life will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 2 at Susanville Christian Fellowship on Hall Street.
Ruby Sprotte
“Ruby” Ruth Sprotte was born in Tulsa, Okla., July 4, 1923. She passed away on Sunday, Feb. 13, 2011 in Susanville, Calif. at the age of 87 from heart failure.
Ruby was a reconciler for Lockheed Martin Corp. for more than 30 years. An avid gardener, she hybridized roses and was president and editor for the Rose Society in San Fernando, Calif. She won numerous trophies and awards for her arrangements. She loved to play the organ and could crochet like a machine.
Upon her retirement Ruby decided to move to Susanville to be closer to her youngest daughter Gloria and her family. She made numerous friends in Susanville enjoying trips to Reno with all her gal pals.
Ruby is survived by her doggie Ginger; daughter Sylvia, of San Berdo; son and daughter-in-law Randy and Debra, of Simi Valley; daughter and son-in-law Gloria and Bill, of Susanville; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; her sister and brother-in-law Alma and Glenn, of Malibu, and many nieces and her nephew.
Ruby was preceded in death by her daughter Pamela; mother Mayme; father Roy; brother Bud and nieces Cody and Jody.
She will be laid to rest in Glen Haven Memorial Park San Fernando, on March 11, 2011.
Virginia Brown
Virginia Brown, 84, died March 15, 2011 in Reno, Nev. She was born on Dec. 6, 1926 in Waverly, Iowa.
Virginia is survived by son Roy Clayton II; daughters Donna and Ed Herrera, and Trudy Bradley; brother Walt Brown; eight grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and many friends.
James Barney Mitchell
James Barney Mitchell passed away February 10, 2011. He was born to Jim and Nancy Mitchell in Spokane, Wash. on Oct. 31, 1963.
He is survived by his common law family; Andrea Smith and her five children Layce, Lauren, Lindsey, Lexis and Logan. Also by two son-in-law's Jason and Bobby; along with four grandchildren Breanna, Nevaeh, Konner and Cassius. He is very loved and will be missed.
Lyman Johnson Manley
Lyman Johnson Manley died in his home in Yucaipa, Calif. on March 17, 2011. He was born on March 9, 1943 in Lexington, Tenn.
He was a Vietnam-era Air Force veteran. He lived in Susanville, Calif. where he owned and operated Manley's Appliance.
He was preceded in death by his step-son Charles Smith.
He was survived by his wife of 32 years Janice Manley; daughter Patsy Smart; stepdaughter Laurie Graf; son John Manley; stepson Daniel Smith and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at Riverside Veterans Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 with a celebration of his life to follow at Northview Mobile Park in Yucaipa.
