REGISTERS ARE RINGING THROUGHOUT THE TOWN
Throughout the city of Susanville, 26 businesses kicked off Customer Appreciation Days Tuesday, May 3. The annual shopping supplement — featuring many great buys just in time for Mother’s Day gift giving — was inserted into the Lassen County Times, the Westwood Pinepress and the Chester Progressive, so merchants’ messages were delivered to more than 14,000 homes and businesses. We started Customer Appreciation Days 20 years ago with a handful of merchants, including long-time participants Margie’s Book Nook, Leslie’s Jewelry and Billington Ace Hardware. This year Arlin Billington said he saw more than 500 people in one day. Wow! Newcomers to the promotion included The Health Nut, Bicycle Bananas, Pauls Automotive, AAA Susanville and many other local merchants. In addition to the four $50 Daily Dollars drawings (winners were Frank Paul, Greg O’Neil, Scott Dulgar and Orrin Bil), we also gave away three additional $100 shopping sprees to Paula Dixon, Anna Perry and Brandi Martin. Many of the merchants also had their own in-store drawings, Sue Terwilliger won a $100 store gift certificate at Billington Ace Hardware and Lora Stiles won a $200 gift certificate at Leslie’s Jewelry.
In addition to the great deals, customers also enjoyed delicious appetizers Friday, May 6. Overall, it was a huge success! Shoppers drove in from Chico, Redding, Ravendale, Chester and throughout Lassen and Plumas counties. It just goes to show you can find amazing deals right here in your hometown of Susanville. We appreciate all of our 26 merchants for supporting this event.
