SHORTER MASSAGES, GREAT RESULTS
Even with a hectic schedule, you can still make some time to relax and get a therapeutic massage. Certified Massage Therapist Kelly Fairbank, of East West Bodywork, says if time and money are a preventing you from getting a massage, try a shorter massage focused on your problem area. "The most frequent complaint is tight shoulders and neck, a universal place to store our stress. Most of my clients get a one hour massage, but I offer massages in any time increment, from 30 minutes on up."

Fairbank said more frequent massages have a cumulative effect, especially for those with chronically tight muscles. "Healthy muscle tissue should be pliable, even in those who work out. Some people have muscles that haven't relaxed for so long, the muscles have forgot how to be in a normal, relaxed state. Massage is a great way to remind your muscles how to relax."
