If you have noticed driving down Main Street in Susanville there's been lots of work going on at 1303 Main St. (next to Susanville Supermarket). Longtime Susanville resident Doug McDonald is opening Wheels West on Aug. 1. McDonald tells us, he will have previously owned cars and trucks on the lot. Be sure and stop by soon to check out the inventory.
HAPPY 1st ANNIVERSARY
Dan Brown, owner of Bicycle Bananas, tells us he is excited to be celebrating his one-year anniversary owning the Susanville store. “Having been born and raised in Susanville, my passion for bike riding was born on these mountain roads. After owning my store in Reno for more than 20 years, I was pleased to return home and expand to a second location,” said to Brown.
Be sure to stop by during the month of July and see all the great things in store, from skateboard equipment and the finest brand names in mountain bikes and accessories for all ages.
CHEERLEADING CAMP THIS WEEK
Lassen High School Cheerleading team will be hosting a camp July 23 and 24 for students from kindergarten through 8th grade. “It’s a great opportunity to learn stunts, dance and cheer,” said coordinator Renae Johnson. “Participants will get to ride in the parade and perform at the first home game with the LHS Cheerleaders,” she adds. For more information contact Johnson at 251-7343.
FREE SOUTHERN GOSPEL CONCERT
Liberty, a traditional Southern Gospel Quartet, will be performing at a free community concert sponsored by the Susanville Nazarene Church at 10 a.m. July 31. The members of the band travel over 50,000 miles a year performing their concert-based ministries. Pastor Joe Sturgeon tells us, “Whether or not you are a fan of Southern Gospel music, you will certainly enjoy the enthusiasm these men exhibit while singing their praises.” After the concert there is a free barbecue hosted by the church, and you are welcome to potluck in your favorite dish, too.
