Donna Toland

Donna Toland passed away on Aug. 29, 2011 after a lengthy illness. Donna was born on March 26, 1948 in Susanville. She was a Lassen High graduate in 1966 and a resident of Susanville for many years before moving to San Jose, Calif.

She is survived by her mother Lynn Williams, father Larry Toland and step-mother Lloyd Toland. Surviving also are three children, Lloyd Dale Johnson, Tamera Augustine and Kim Booth. Numerous grandchildren, several sisters and one brother.

Donna was greatly loved by her family, best friend Mary and the love of her life Lou. God Bless you Donna.

Thomas Brush passed away in his home on Sept. 2, 2011. Tom was born on March 6, 1927, in Dupree, S.D. and spent most of his early years in Sherwood, Ore. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in both World War II and Korea. He had a long, successful career in the construction industry, living in the Bay Area.

When Tom retired in early 1980, he and his wife, Rosemary moved to Susanville, Calif. He was an avid gardener and a proud member of the Republican Party.

A private memorial mass was held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Sept. 6, 2011. Thomas Brush is survived by his wife Rosemary Brush; brother Norman Brush; sister Mary Pettijohn; sons Chris and Greg Brush; and daughter Rosemari Reed. Tom had eight grandchildren, Ryan Reed, Randi Lasky, Nicole Wright, and Jennifer, David, Daniel, Allan and Andy Brush, along with seven great-grandchildren.
