Lady Grizzlies fall to the Tigers
Wednesday, Sept. 14 — The Lassen High varsity volleyball took on the Portola Tigers in a non-league match up Tuesday, Sept. 13, and despite battling out in four games, the Lady Grizzlies lost to the Tigers.
Lassen’s up and comer Myeisha Shepard had 19 attacks on the night with nine kills in three games.
Kaleigh Smith had 14 out of 17 serves with four aces.
“I’m so proud of how they played,” said interim head coach Julie Schmidt.
Schmidt said Lassen’s Tiffany Waddell and Alyssa Armoskus were outstanding on defense against Portola’s big hitters.
Lassen’s junior varsity team won its match against the Tigers in three games, 25-12, 25-23 (lost) and 15-10.
